Frequently Asked Questions

Question: I have found my egg donor, but not my Gestational Carrier yet. Can I create embryos or do I need to wait?
Answer: Pregnancy rates at our lab are the same using fresh or frozen embryos so we recommend you go ahead and cycle your egg donor. Having embryos ready may help you with the GC matching process as well.

Question: Is Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS) the same at all programs?
Answer: No, PGS is a very specialized procedure that requires a lot of proficiency. It is a powerful tool but requires experience in the technique.

Question: Can PGS harm my embryos?
Answer: As long as the program has experience with the procedure then it is a safe and very beneficial process.

Question: Why wouldn’t I do PGS?
Answer: There is an additional cost upfront for PGS, but the benefits, including lower miscarriage and termination rates, may save money in the long run.

Question: Does it matter where I have my embryo transfer? Can I create my embryos and then move them to a program that is closer to my GC?
Answer: We highly recommend you have your GC travel to us to avoid moving the embryos. The thaw procedure of the laboratory and transfer technique of the doctor are crucial to a successful pregnancy.
